a true celebration of life
Howell Township's only Funeral Home - Established in 1965

Our facilities are complete with cutting-edge technology.  We offer digital displays throughout our chapel, a sound system that is integrated throughout the entire funeral home, as well as a separate unparalleled    Theater Room featuring a 10 foot theater screen to view photographs and videos of your loved one's life throughout the years by creating a memorable tribute.  All of these features are offered at no additional cost for all services that take place at our funeral home.

The DiCostanzo family have been the proud owners of the Lakewood Funeral Home for over 50 years.  Unlike most corporately owned funeral homes, we pride ourselves in personal, attentive care.  We offer many types of funerals to accommodate all budgets, including but not limited to Cremation, Memorial Services, Celebration of Life, Burials, Entombments, all with or without visitation.  We will custom tailor a service to the unique needs of your family, whether they be traditional or non-traditional.

COVID-19: Novel Coronavirus

Our family has served the community for over 55 years, and I feel it is my obligation to offer as much help and relief as possible.  During these emotionally difficult and financially trying times, I would like to offer a minimum 20% price reduction for all funeral service packages  that we offer, as long as our community is effected by COVID-19.  Please click the "Service Options" tab above to view examples of the price reduction.

In order to do this, we have implemented a unique new strategy for making funeral arrangements that is safe for members of the community, as well as our employees.  For those interested in funeral arrangements that do not include a public service, this new format both saves money as well as direct physical contact.  All arrangements made for either burial or cremation would be made over the internet.

We have been doing our due diligence to keep up with the regulations imposed.  We have implemented several changes to follow the guidelines, yet allow families the opportunity to have the service that fits the needs of their family to grieve and celebrate the life of their loved one.

Current regulations have mandated that we follow strict limitations.  The order taking effect 9 p.m. March 21 prohibits gatherings of any kind -- no weddings, no funerals, no in-person business meetings  -- which previously had been limited to 50, and then 10, people.  The order essentially requires that the state's 9 million residents remain home, although they are allowed to walk or run outside as long as they can maintain safe distance from others.

First and foremost, we have committed to serve only one family at a time. Each family that we serve will have the use of the funeral home exclusively to themselves.  We have implemented a strategy to overcome these difficult times,  yet still creating a meaningful service that meets your families needs and wishes.

Please know we are still available 24 hours hours every day during this emergency crisis.  From your first call to us, we will bring your loved one into our care and schedule the services when the churches, temples, cemeteries and crematories allow.  If your loved one has passed away due to Covid-19, we will take all necessary precautions and still be of service to you and your family during this extremely difficult time.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me personally at

From our family to yours, we hope we can aid in making these difficult times easier.

Stay well & be safe.
